This brownie recipe is to die for!! It comes out perfect every time! Serve with Vanilla Icecream or eat it plain.

Let's get started.......

You will need

FOR COCOA VERSION

6 Tbsp Cocoa powder

⅓ Cup {Chopped) Dark chocolate

1/2 Cup Butter

1/2 Yogurt

1/2 Maida/ Plain Flour

1 Cup Powdered sugar

1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp Vanilla Extract5 TBSP chopped walnuts and/or hazelnuts

For Glaze

6 ounces finely chopped semi-sweet chocolate melted 1/2 cup whipping cream

FOR CAROB VERSION

6 Tbsp Carob powder ⅓ Cup unsweetened carob chips 1/4 cup butterscotch chips/morsels 1/4 cup white morsels/chips 1/2 Cup Butter 1/2 Yogurt 1/2 Maida/ Plain Flour 1/2 cup Powdered sugar 1 tsp baking powder 1 tsp Vanilla Extract

5 TBSP chopped walnuts and/or hazelnuts

For Glaze 6 ounces  semi-sweet carob chips melted 1/2 cup whipping cream

The method is the same for both versions.

Method

In a bowl Sieve flour, baking powder, Cocoa, or Carob powder.

In another bowl add butter, sugar, and vanilla extract. Whip the butter and sugar mixture till light and fluffy.

add yogurt and whip again.

Melt the baking chips, over a double boiler, taking care not burn them. Add the melted chips and add them to the butter and sugar mixture.

Chop the nuts and roll the nuts in 1 TBSP flour mixture that we had sieved before. Rolling the nuts in flour prevents the nuts from sinking in the batter.

Now mix everything together, the dry flour mixture + the nut mixture + the butter, sugar, and chips mixture.

Save around 1 TBSP nuts mixture to garnish the top.

Pour into a greased baking sheet. Bake in a preheated oven at 350 C for 20-25 minutes.

Sprinkle the top with some more chopped nuts before baking if you do not want to put a glaze, however, if you will adding a glaze, Save the nuts for after glazing.

I also sprinkled with some butterscotch morsels ( My kids are crazy about butterscotch morsels).

After 20 minutes check the brownies,  if a toothpick inserted in the sides comes out clean and at the center comes out slightly sticky. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely before cutting.

Cut into squares and glaze if you desire.

To make glaze simply melt the chips and then add the whipping cream. Spread evenly all over the brownie and sprinkle with the reserved nuts.

Offer to the Lord and feed the devotees.

Thanks heaps for the brownie recipe. Finally got it right after so many failed attempts at modifying the egg version to eggless. I’ve made it a few times now and everyone raves about it. Made it with walnuts and macadamia and both taste equally good.
