You will need

  • 2 cups old fashioned oats

  • 3/4 cup sliced almonds

  • 2 Tablespoon of brown sugar

  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon

  • ½ teaspoon of ground nutmeg

  • ¼ teaspoon salt

  • 4 Tablespoon Butter

I have replaced the butter with coconut oil on several occasions, it tastes very nice too.

  • ½ cup pure maple syrup

  • 1½ teaspoon of vanilla extract

Method

In a large bowl, toss old fashioned oats, sliced almonds, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and salt.

In a small bowl, mix the wet ingredients, melted butter, pure maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Whisk until combined. Pour wet mixture over dry mixture and toss to coat everything.

Then spread granola mixture out across the entire baking sheet, lined with parchment paper. Bake for 30-40 minutes in a preheated oven at 325 or until the granola has turned brown and crispy. I did 35 minutes and it was perfect. You will want to turn the granola every 10 minutes so it doesn't burn and is evenly cooked.

Remove from oven and let cool completely, before storing.

Say a little prayer and enjoy!
